| Outstanding Dove, Pigeon and Perdiz Hunting in Uruguay! |
You will have a quick hunt the afternoon of your arrival. The next 3 days will be full hunting and the last day you will hunt the morning, then travel back to Montevideo to catch your return flight home. San Pedro de Timote was founded in 1854 by Pedro Jose Jackson on the lands of an ancient cattle farm of the Jesuits. Through the years it has remained one of the important cattle ranches of Uruguay. In 1997 it was declared a Historical National Monument because of its architectural style, the design of its outdoor sites, the natural scenery that surrounds it and the historical values.
Today San Pedro de Timote has been totally refurbished to
be a "Hotel de Campo", with all the services and amenities needed for a
pleasant stay. Rooms are divided between the historic main house and
the guesthouse. All rooms are decorated in the country style and have
heating; most have private bathrooms. In the main house there are
multiple sitting areas, many with fireplaces which are lit in the
evening. There is a small bar and a dining room, both with fireplaces.
Cuisine is traditional country, served buffet style. There is an indoor pool and two outdoor pools, a playroom, two TV rooms with one having a 61" TV and DVD player, a tennis court and other recreational facilities |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Outfitter Eduardo Gonzalez has 20 years experience and when you arrive in Montevideo, Eduardo’s staff will greet you and will assist the group through immigration and customs. We have outstanding references from our clients who have hunted with Eduardo. Eduardo has been operating his dove, pigeon and perdiz combination trips for years and he has one of the best kennel of Brittanys in Uruguay. Each morning you will have a full breakfast at the lodge and then leave for dove, pigeons or perdiz hunting in nearby fields. Eduardo has over 500,000 acres of pastures available and exclusive for his hunters. For those unfamiliar with perdiz, it is an upland game bird a little bigger than quail. On a normal morning, two hunters, a dog and a guide can expect to flush 30-50 perdiz in 2 hours of easy walking. After the hunt we come back to the lodge for lunch and nap. In the afternoon you may hunt pigeons or doves going to roost. Expect to shoot 1-2 cases of shells (500-1000 shells) in an afternoon for doves the is limit is eight boxes of shells per shooter. You’ll return to the lodge in plenty time for a snack and a drink before dinner. |
