The
Lodge: Nestled
at the base of a jungle waterfall, Golfito Sailfish Rancho sits on a
sandy private beach, where the only noise you hear is the soothing
sound
of the surf and the rain forest. Only a short distance from the Pacific
Ocean, this lodge offers all the amenities you would expect from a
first
class resort, including spacious and comfortable accommodations, an
open
bar, culinary delights, privacy and spectacular sunsets over the
Pacific.
Each guest room offers either 2 or 3 beds, two ceiling fans (combined
with
the cool ocean breezes, keep the room temperature comfortable at night.
Each room has a walk-in shower two sinks, a safe, rod holders and a
spacious closet.

is
an experienced
sportsman, host and fishing companion. Mike is a Certified FFF
flycasting instructor, 14 years guide experience as a bird hunting
guide, guided several times in Alaska, Montana, Michigan, British
Columbia, Mexico, and the Caribbean and enjoys saltwater and blue
flyfishing.He has unique credentials as both a practicing dentist and an attorney in Michigan. He has been practicing dentistry since 1983 and simultaneously attended law school. He has focused his legal practice on professional practice transitions, creating a highly successful consulting business geared toward the health care professional. Having served on multiple boards and committees, Mike has remained up-to-date on the changing trends in organized health care. World Class Fishing: The Pacific side of Costa Rica is known for its calm oceans and wide assortment of standup fishing and Golfito Rancho is committed to offering the finest sportfishing experience. The boats are modern and well equipped, the captains know the Costa Rica waters very well, and the rancho staff is always attentive. The staff stocks the boat including the bait before you board so no valuable fishing time is lost to catching bait in the mornings. Tournament quality fishing gear is available at no extra charge but feel free to bring your own casting light tackle. Fly Fishing is also welcomed. The boat captains are very experienced with the technique of taking a Sailfish on the fly. Try your hand at Roosterfish, Snapper and the wide variety of other types of fly fishing available. The Boats: Golfito Sailfish Rancho now has 10
state-of-the-art, 27 foot center console inboard boats with bow pulpits
extending to 29
feet. All boats are equipped with a live well, Rupp outriggers, a T-top
and the latest US Coast Guard safety equipment.Each boat is powered by a 300 HP Cummins inboard diesel engine that will get you there quickly and quietly. The cruising speed is 32 mph. All boats have a "Head" and are equipped with the latest electronics; Furuno GPS, Furuno Fishfinders and Radios. These boats set a new standard in fishing pleasure in Costa Rica. |
Getting There:
Arrive in San Jose by
international
flight. You
will be met by our lodge representative and transported to your
hotel. Early the next morning you will be picked up at the hotel and
transported to the airport for a short flight to Golfito. Here
you will be met at the airstrip and taken to the Golfito Sailfish
Rancho
located in Golfito Dulce only a short boatride away.
Costa Rica is a "must destination" for sport fishing! The Pacific side is well known for calm oceans and a wide assortment of stand up fishing. Costa Rica is a neutral country in the politics of world powers. Many locals speak English fluently.
