  Patagonia conjures up

the sprawling estancias and charming towns, like Bariloche, that remind
one of Alpine villages. Even Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid found
sanctuary
in Patagonia. Nestled among the plains, lakes and Andes Mountains is
the
secluded Estancia Alicura, whose gauchos still ride horseback over the
sprawling 200,00 acres.
Trout Fishing: Alicura has some of the most outstanding, crystal clear rivers and streams from which to fly fish in Argentina. Populations of above average size German brown trout, rainbow trout and landlocked salmon, thrive in these uncrowded unspoiled rivers. Alicura is located directly in the center of the most productive river system in Patagonia. The staff of professional guides can take you to any one of seven great rivers with in one hour of the ranch including the famous Collon Cura, the Caleufu and Limay plus a 15,000 acre mountain lake. With a full line of rafts and drift boats. You can enjoy overnight floats for best experience of fishing the Argentina / Patagonia rivers. All necessary equipment is provided, from flies to leaders to rods and waders. Not to mention the great riverside Asados (BBQ's) complete with the finest wines of the region. Your comfort and experience are number one at Estancia Alicura because the fish are already there. Trolling and spin fishing are options as well.   Trophy Red Stag in

Trophy Russian wild boar and puma also abound. Argentina is a virgin
environment where the red deer, puma, Russian wild boar and other wild
species are
free roaming and most can be hunted year round. However March, which is
fall in Argentina, is a super season for red deer hunting. Top quality hunting equipment is available for a fee. Alicura’s gauchos, who have lived in the region for generations, can assist in providing the greatest trails and hunting. |

incredibly, The quail were imported to the ranch over 40 years ago and through careful management are flourishing! Coveys of 30-40 birds are common.
