South Africa

The greatest destination for the sport hunter today.
South Africa has a wealth of bird shooting opportunities brought about by ongoing excellent game management and species diversity. Combined with the "No Hassles" planning by classic Sports International, the excellent accommodations, guides, equipment, and service of McDonald Pro-Hunt, makes great hunting, not only for the first timer but also for the discerning collector.
These special Bird Shooting Safaris incorporate all the tradition and service offered on Big Game hunts. Doves, Francolin, Guinea fowl and Sand Grouse hunts with experienced guides and well trained pointers. Again, the areas and the quality of the game are the ingredients for good safaris. We are fortunate to hunt some of the finest areas in South Africa.

McDonald Pro Hunt is a second-generation hunting company and is owned and operated by Sandy and Tracey McDonald. The head office is based in Pietersburg, Northern Province, which is run with the aid of Helen McDonald.
Hunting has been a family business for many years, with Alex McDonald (Snr) having hunted Kenya, Botswana and South Africa extensively, from the mid 1950's until his retirement in the early 1980's and who was one of the pioneers of Professional Hunting in South Africa.
Sandy has followed in his footsteps, having started hunting at a very young age and taught to be conservation conscious. He formed McDonald Pro-Hunting in 1991, which is now one of the largest such operations in South Africa and which also operates in Mozambique, Botswana and Tanzania.
