Nicaragua is the largest country of Central America, covering an area of 50,464 square miles (130,700 square km). The capital is Managua. Nicaragua's maximum length from north to south is about 275 miles (440 km), and its maximum width from east to west is about 280 miles (450km).  It is bordered by Honduras on the north, the Caribbean Sea on the east, Costa Rica on the south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west.  Nicaragua was in the world headlines in the 1980s when the Sandinistas ruled.  The country converted to a democracy in 1990 with a conservative President who is tough on crime and committed to creating an inviting environment for tourism, business and investment. Nicaragua today is a peaceful, stable country that welcomes tourists and hunters. It is also a country of rich ecological diversity with large areas of rain forest, rugged mountains, volcanoes and verdant agricultural valleys. The cities of Managua and Chinandega are attractive and steeped in history and colonial architecture.

Marvin and Richard Townsend of Tours America Safaris are Nicaraguan Americans with many years of experience  in this attractive country bordered by Honduras and Costa Rica with coast lines on both the Pacific and the Caribbean. The Townsends are excellent hosts who speak fluent English and will cater to your every need.
